ACDC once shouted "for those about to rock, we salute you." If the band were present at Ozzfest 2005, they'd be doing more saluting than the procession line at Marine boot camp graduation. Ozzfest has always been home to the hardest of rockers, and they may have outdone themselves this year.
Consider this. Headlining the rock concert institution are Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden (Velvet Revolver takes over for Iron Maiden in late August). That alone is enough to fill stadiums across North America. But Ozzfest takes it a step further with the addition of bands like Mudvayne, Shadows Fall, Black Label Society and In Flames to the ticket. Oh, and did I mention, these bands are only the bands on the main stage. Rob Zombie, Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Mastodon, A Dozen Furies, The Haunted, Arch Enemy, The Black Dahlia Murder, Bury Your Dead, It Dies Today, Soilwork and Trivium take over on the second stage.
Black Sabbath's reunion includes all of the original band members, including guitar legend Tony Iommi.
Metal-starved fans rush to buy Ozzfest concert tickets and they go fast. Ozzfest tickets represent one of the great values on the tour scene. For the price of one concert, you get to see 21 bands. We're sure ACDC would salute that deal as well.
